Notes:

  • Bacillus Calmette–Guérin (BCG), vaccine that gives protection against tuberculosisHepatitis B vaccine give protection against Hepatitis B
  • DTaP-IPV-Hep B-Hib  is a combination of 6 vaccines that gives protection against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, poliomyelitis, Hepatitis B and Haemophilus Influenzae type B 
  • MMR is the combination of Measles(M), Mumps(M) and Rubella(R)
  • Pneumococcal (PCV) vaccine gives protection against invasive pneumococcal diseases caused by Streptococcus Pneumoniae
  • JE is a vaccine against Japanese Encephalitis. This vaccine is only provided in Sarawak
  • DT is a booster dose which protects against diphtheria (D) and tetanus (T)
  • HPV is a Human Papillomavirus vaccine. This vaccine is provided only for girls aged 13 years. It is given to prevent cervical cancer.
  • TT is Tetanus Toxoid vaccine given as a booster to protect against tetanus

 

Adherence to Immunisation Schedule

It is important for your child to receive their immunisation according to schedule to ensure they receive optimum protection against vaccine preventable diseases.

If unable to attend the appointment date, please contact the health facility to arrange for a new date to avoid any delay

In case of missing any of the listed vaccines, call or attend the nearest health facility to get a new appointment date

Keep your child’s immunisation records in a safe place for future reference

 

Additional Immunisation

Additional immunisation that are recommended for children are listed below and are available in private health facilities

Vaccine

Age/ duration of vaccination

Rotavirus

Recommended first dose to be given after 6 weeks of age. Consult your doctor for the subsequent doses and intervals according to the type of rotavirus vaccine received.

Varicella zoster / chicken pox

For children 12 months to 12 years: 2 doses more than 4 weeks apart.

Hepatitis A

For children above 1 year : 2 doses given 6-12 months apart.
