Clinics go mobile

BESIDES static facilities like hospitals and clinics, the Health Ministry has gone mobile to offer better care.

Outreach medical services, consisting of mobile medical teams and clinics are providing coverage in the interior, especially in Sabah and Sarawak.

There are 171 mobile clinics providing medical care to 1,461 villages in Perak, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Johor, Pahang, Sabah and Sarawak.

In addition to this are the 1Malaysia mobile clinics, introduced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak last year.

The 1Malaysia clinics provide free medical services to those in rural areas who do not have access to mobile clinics.
